Same-layout cabinets and counters usually don't. Taking out a wall, relocating plumbing or cutting in a window does, through the City of Hamilton, and a load-bearing wall needs an engineered beam. Hamilton takes the full fee with the application, so we build that into the schedule.
A licensed gas fitter moves gas lines, and new circuits are filed with the Electrical Safety Authority. In older homes we often replace old wiring in the kitchen while the walls are open.
Downtown condos need board approval, elevator bookings and set work hours. We handle the paperwork and plan deliveries around the building's rules.

Not at all, but we plan for it. Century homes often need new wiring and plumbing in the kitchen, and walls and floors are rarely straight, so cabinets are set and scribed to fit.
Yes. We get board approval, book the elevator and work within the building's hours.
Two to three weeks on site for most kitchens, after about a week of design. A permit for a wall removal adds time before we start.
No. Most families stay home. We set up a temporary spot for the fridge and microwave and keep the dust behind plastic.
We come back and fix it. Our workmanship is covered for four years, and the cabinet, counter and appliance makers' warranties apply on top.
