Grimsby Beach has older cottages turned into year-round homes, often with small kitchens and older wiring. Grimsby-on-the-Lake and the newer streets have builder kitchens with good layouts. Downtown has older family homes where opening the kitchen to the dining room is the usual request.
New cabinets and counters in the same layout usually need no permit. Removing a wall, moving plumbing or adding a window needs a Town of Grimsby building permit, and electrical work is filed with the Electrical Safety Authority. We handle all of it.
Parts of Grimsby fall under the Niagara Escarpment Commission's development control. Interior work isn't affected, but additions and some exterior changes there need its approval first.
Lakeshore and creek-side lots can need approval from the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority for exterior work. We check before quoting.
Yes. We have built kitchens in Grimsby Beach and Grimsby-on-the-Lake, and nearby in Beamsville and Stoney Creek. Our crews come from our Burlington office.
