About this project
A white built-in media wall with a linear electric fireplace is the main feature of this finished basement. Before, the rooms had dark wood-panelled walls and worn carpet next to an unfinished utility area with the furnace, water heater and laundry. Now the floors are light brown oak-look plank, with white walls and trim and pot lights. The media wall has open shelves on each side, lower cabinets with black hardware and the fireplace under the TV space. A hallway with bifold closet doors leads to separate rooms with white panel doors and windows.
Replacing dark panelling with white walls and pot lights makes a big difference in a basement with small windows. A built-in media wall keeps cords, devices and storage in one place.
